Autonomy Corporation has announced a new approach for managing law firm content, radically reducing their dependency on information technology resources and strengthening firms' ability to serve their clients. The iManage Digital Safe solution enables law firms to archive and retrieve matter content - such as documents, email, audio, and images - in Autonomy's Digital Safe, the world's largest cloud-based data archive at over 10 petabytes. As a result, firms can dramatically reduce the cost and complexity of maintaining a large IT infrastructure to store and manage massively growing volumes of data. iManage Digital Safe is also available as an on-premise archiving solution.
As the volume of content law firms must manage continues to spiral upward, firms face a huge challenge in storing and managing this information cost-effectively. A high percentage of this data is related to inactive matters that are infrequently accessed. However, law firms still require a way to quickly and easily retrieve the relevant information at a client's request, leverage this information for knowledge management, or to rapidly respond to a litigation and investigation pertaining to the firm. Corporate clients also increasingly demand direct access to this information - and law firms are seeking a better way to facilitate these requests.
The iManage Digital Safe solution overcomes these challenges by leveraging the company's unique strengths in private cloud computing, legal information management, and eDiscovery. Today, 9 of the world's top ten banks trust Autonomy Digital Safe to securely archive their information assets and maintain compliance with all regulatory standards, including the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP). Autonomy iManage is also the de facto standard for legal information management, counting 75 of the Global 100 law firms as customers. Autonomy is also a recognized leader in eDiscovery, and the only company to provide an end-to-end solution that addresses the entire Electronic Discovery Reference Model.
The iManage Digital Safe is a massively scalable, cloud-based and on-premise archive service that enables customers to outsource the storage and management of their email messages, client and matter related documents, instant messages (IMs), and unified communications content to a trusted, proven third-party. Digital Safe is powered by Autonomy's Intelligent Data Operating Layer (IDOL), which ingests, de-duplicates, and indexes documents and emails. Digital Safe can automatically archive content from email and WorkSite servers based on pre-defined business rules. This enables users to easily and transparently retrieve archived data and prepares the data for potential future legal holds or preservation.
"Autonomy is uniquely positioned and committed to redefine how law firms and corporations manage their legal content," said
